Hi there, I’m Ms. Mitchell

I believe every mind is marvelous: extraordinary and able to cause great wonder. Thus, 4M: Ms. Mitchell's Marvelous Minds was born!

I've always known I was going to be a teacher. My favorite game to play with my dolls was "school"!

After graduating high school, I attended Gordon State College, where I earned my associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in Early Childhood Education.

From there, I began my teaching career with the Henry County Public School System in McDonough, GA. I've taught 1st through 5th grade in general education, covering all subjects. As of the 2024–2025 school year, I serve students in EIP Reading and Math.

As a classroom teacher, it was challenging to meet the needs of students who were struggling to build on foundational skills in math and reading that they didn't have yet. With the demands of a full school day—teaching standards, meeting curriculum goals, and fulfilling state, county, and school requirements—I often found myself frustrated, spending late nights trying to figure out how to truly help each individual student. My students needed more time, more attention, and more instruction—and I needed more time to give it to them.

It's one of the reasons I started this tutoring business.

To help every child to see that their mind is truly marvelous through empowering and affirming one-on-one sessions that allow them to get to know it, trust it, and use it!
